You announced to exchange forums with a discord, let me say that discord is just a chat , no message ll stay there to get an answer from the community..u said its fast , but if no expert is there to answer that question at the time it was asked , then? that question ll be wasted.

all good companies including Microsoft has both systems , chat help line and forums also...

as u ve not provided any sort of info about the game as a tutorial and players are becoming fed up due to this thing ( e.g.. 216 inf is required to hold auto resolve, many many things more which are not described ) , forum was the only way to ask something even when the an expert is not online..

if u can not make a tutorial , if u can not answer to direct questions at least handle yr forum well to let players make this game alive.thats all..

They did this intentionally specifically so they don't have to address real issues.

Here, critical issues can be thoughtfully debated and substantiated with proof, such as images, videos, and polls.

Here, you can also up-vote topics, search to see if others had the same issue. You could add your voice to existing feedback to show Reto that it's not just 1 or 2 players complaining but rather a significant portion of their player base responding to the same issues. Likewise you could add counter arguments or even offer actual solutions (which many players did). In other words, the forums allow you to get deeper and more complete feedback.

These are all super important things for any developer that actually cares about their users. And by the way, while I appreciate praise, negative feedback is really all I care about at work because those are the things I need to improve.

But for Reto, these are all perceived to be problems rather than legit feedback. Especially since here on the forums, it becomes very clear how long important issues are totally ignored, since you can link or search back through the records.

Reto has no interest in any of this, so switching to Discord is a convenient way to completely make all the criticism and constructive negative feedback disappear. Their whole "user driven development" shtick was a total lie, and these forums made that crystal clear.

It's a shame because over the years, the amount of time and effort that players took to provide feedback was astonishing. But Reto just got offended most of the time and totally ignored everyone. Just like with the latest issue of rocks. I've followed these forums for years, and the claim that it's toxic is completely false. The fact is that the vast majority of topics posted here were polite constructive feedback.

Why any developer would want to exchange a dedicated feedback forum for real-time chat is beyond me. It's not like they're going to fix things in real-time, so what's the point. And their argument that no one comes here is BS. They could have promoted the forums more and made it the primary place for questions, answers, and feedback. They could have actually engaged the users here like they do elsewhere. But they didn't.

The only reason players stopped using the forums is because they were wholly ignored and all of their time and effort to provide feedback was a total waste of time. That's completely on Reto and has nothing to do with trends, etc.

Lastly, their position that they can only do one or the other is bizarre. They should have their public relations people doing the real-time chat - to mingle with players and whatnot. Things like Discord would be great for this. Meanwhile, their developers should be here analyzing feedback to improve the game, and engaging with players who take the time and effort to offer suggestions for improvement.

I agree that none of the reasons they gave make sense; not from a users nor from a developers perspective.

This thing with closing the forums is mere evidence that R-M is in a downward spiral and gradually making things worse for themselves..

It's a decision made by their CEO (remember JM promised to come in here every week in order to enhance transparency and work on customer relations (Operation Glasnost) - well that did not last long either did it?) and / or board because they find themselves in a dire situation.

And you know what they say no? "A drowning man will clutch at a straw" ?

Exchange would be wrong, deletion of forums would be correct. They've had Discord and Forums running at the same time, no issue, with different purposes.

Completely spot on.

Constructive Critisism, or the so called negative feedback, is always more important than positive feedback as it gives you the opportunity to improve.

People that give these feedbacks have passion and do it because they would really like to see these improvements; those that do not give any feedback are useless as those people in general just dont care (and hence do not contribute to the improvements).

And yes, the forum is the best place for these feedbacks, the discord is just to much volatile; when you write something there it will vanish in the infinite rows in no-time, killing the constructive feedback concept.

wouldnt be suprised if that is the point of the whole operation - hear no evil , see no evil , speak no evil

its not like proper feedback on broken hitboxes , laggy servers  , lopsided RTS coding an all that has ever really brought us anywhere , after all the best way to hide your inability to deal with a problem is silencing those who point fingers at it

the point of moving to discord is , like hades pretty much admitted , to create an envoirment where they can deal with negative voices in a far less time and effort intense way , its basicly the attempt to streamline the whole process of declaring valid concerns as toxic and trashtalking

they made clear that they are not interested in sanatizing the forums because according to them "many people on here dont play the game anymore " and "It would be too much effort because a lot of people would have to leave " which pretty much says that they have no interest in reclaiming long time vets or their favor because they are basicly milked dry from a financial standpoint aswell  as reto not being interested in overwhelming negative feedback - no matter if its not constructive or constructive

What they are missing is that the toxicity will just follow them to discord , and in the end when people get mass banned on discord aswell they will realize  that pandering to a bunch of HG super stans and paid schills will not get them anywhere because those people dont bring in new players , in fact those people are OK with the state the game is in , which is an alarming mindset  considering how deep HG has fallen already playerbase and quality wise

The most insulting thing tho is that they still claim that negative feedback is valuable to them  when their actions speak a much clearer message

but enough rambling , making posts about this wont change anything , its already decided , everyone knows the reason , the only way to veto a bad reto decision is a shitstorm of large proportions and that is pretty much not going to happen at this point because of how split , toxic , small and desinterested the community is at this point

reto will retreat to discord , realize that the toxicity will just follow because the deeper root of the problem is still not solved , they will keep banning people on there till they have accumulated enough negative emotions in the playerbase to permanently kill the game  because the only valid concerns is that of some 12 year old timmy who wants nothing but new weapons , skins  and call of duty /battlefield copy paste stuff  because that is the lowest hanging fruit to pander to - screw everything , we are all doomed , deal with it
