Heroes & Generals: The Sad End

Hi, maybe veteran users in America know me as Curien.

I am a user who plays Heroes & Generals since 2015, I participated in the great clan "División Azul" that played only in the German faction, which was made up more of people from Spain but the latter had a squad in South America that was made up of 15 Veteran users, after the clan was dissolved due to conflicts at the top of the same, we set up our own clan called División Latina, which was dissolved as a result of the surrender of 90% of the members due to the change of the graphic engine and the physics of the game in general. After the latter, I am invited to participate in LAT- Armada Roja, a clan of the Russian faction made up solely of Latin American users that was quite relevant at the time, which begins to suffer the havoc that each update of the game caused in its graphic engine as members' computers and other internal conflicts were running out.

After the brief biographical sketch, I wanted to attack the points, so from my perspective as one of the few veteran users of the game, I think that the same is in decline and is about to disappear.

1 °) The most important: The change of the graphic engine.

If it is true that the new graphics engine made the view of users a bit happy, but we must add that this was the one that started the great cataclysm that forced most users to look for other games of the same genre, since it presents up to today, optimization problems, where before an average user with a low-end gamer computer could run the game at a stable 40fps, when updating the graphics engine he was taken out of combat and forced if or if to acquire a more powerful computer, something normal in the technological and evolutionary advances that any game should have, but the big problem was found that users with mid-range and high-end computers (my case; year 2019 AMD FX 8350, 16GB RAM, GTX 1050 TI) suffer from fps drop the which could not be solved, until today.
So 80% of users fled to other platforms, since Reto instead of taking a step back and going back to the old graphics engine to keep users in the game, It is continued with the new.

2 °) The inclusion of BOTS.

It was something to be expected, since by point 1, we can see that the large number of users who played the game had left it, led Reto to introduce BOTS in the game, something never seen before since the games were always overflowing with users .

3rd) The elimination of the servers in Brazil.

Something that was certain was going to happen, the South American users stopped playing H&G for the points previously exposed, so this led to Reto eliminating the servers based in Brazil, which causes the last South American users to be paired with EEUU users with ping of 160 which makes the game, together with the drop in fps, becomes unplayable and the minority of users left the game.

What would be my opinion so that the game might return to glory?

Something that obviously is not going to happen, which would be to incorporate the old graphics engine again, open the dedicated ones in Brazil again and eliminate the Bots from the games.

I send my regards and say goodbye to HyG forever, it was good while it lasted.

I agree with you especially with the optimization issues with this game. RETO needs to change it or even more people will leave the game. Even some H&G Youtubers like Toilet Productions expressed concern that they can't even get decent performance with the recent 1.22.1 patch . I get it that a laptop with integrated graphics shouldn't be able to run this game but as a person with a RX570 8GB and Ryzen 7 1700, it shouldn't be getting under 60 fps. I even had to turn down the render resolution to Minecraft levels. Then some people argue that you should get a better computer but the thing is that I already have a good computer. And keep in mind Triple AAA games run better than this game and Triple AAA games look far better in quality than this game.

Edited
I forgot to include a segment which is important for context.

BR servers still exist and are played on a daily basis in war now. I see some BR battles in war every day.

Optimization is a problem and has always been.  Though, I have never had the issues others complained about.  I had been running a rig that had an intel processor from 2017 (an i5) and a 1070 and was hitting 100 FPS no problem.  I recently upgraded to the AMD 5800x and a 6700 graphics card (because that is all I can get my hands on for a decent price) and am clocking in at over 170 FPS (at the low point).

Bots were a bad addition to assault.  Agreed.  I would like to see them go.

I would also like to see captured weapons go.  I think that ruined faction identity.

The game is old and tired because the player base is stuck playing on the same maps over and over and over again.  Despite some of their incredibly short sighted decisions and poor execution of ideas, the game can be an enjoyable free to play game when played with friends.  The most disappointing things about HnG is simply the wasted potential the game once had.

I play this game on an AMD 4300U with INTRGRATED graphics.  I still play the game though.

No trust me it still has wasted potential. That's the only thing that hasn't changed in the last 5 years.

Correct.  But, I used the terms I did specifically because I think they have long since passed a point of no return (so to speak) regarding realizing the potential.  Therefore, the potential of what this game could of/would of/should of been is likely lost.  I would love to be wrong about this point.  But, I don't think I am.

It is true what it says, the potential was lost when changing the graphics engine ... this made as I explain in my post that users moved to other platforms.

they are doing money grabs all the wrong places. let us use our own squad resources in war rts with the cost of resupply and only so many per battle, i would give more money to game but the way it is now, N.O.P.E.

Amen.

And while they supposedly have a community manager who actually played the game from scratch they keep ignoring the complaints and suggestions of the veteran players and keep doing the complete opposite of what is needed. As if they live in their complete own bubble and play a different version of the game than its audience...

The recent screw up of the rocks for example. Instead of removing them, they turned all pebbles into freaking boulders and never bothered testing it's effect on the map or game play. And no way they'd apologize for the error they made and undo them ASAP (this is NOT a lot of work since it's changing a number of a magnifying factor like you do in MS Paint when selecting the pencil width and let the engine render those assets again).

I came here to look if there is other user that experiencing dropped fps. now i understand and relief that it's not my gpu fault. anyway, i play since 2014, stop playing at 2018, and play again in 2020. Now i get 10-15 fps in each battle even a Ryzen 9 3900x with RX570 can't handle it. I guess it has something to do with compatibility.  so i guess this is it. salute to yall
