Reto.Hades 3,433 Report post Posted January 29, 2020 Soldiers! Update 1.17.1 is here! Gunplay changes, better iron sights, terrain fixes, prop fixes and more! Lately we have been focusing on the current features of Heroes & Generals WWII. We have been wanting to improve the overall experience for all our players and your quality of life. Gunplay Changes The new conefire system is a hybrid between our previous system and the current one. These are the set parameters within the system: SWAY (YELLOW) Weapon sway is the same for all weapons, and a parameter that is affected by stamina and how quickly you move your cursor. Quick turns and fast movements will expand this pattern. RECOIL PATTERN (GREEN) Each weapon now has a unique recoil pattern. This base pattern will always be the same. When the trigger is continuously held, the weapon you are firing will follow its own unique recoil pattern originating from the 1st shot (BLUE) placed down range. This pattern will expand (Cone Expansion) the longer the trigger is held (automatic) or when shot in quick succession (semi-auto weapons). The sway will also marginally affect the recoil pattern when continuously firing a gun. Being out of stamina will therefore drastically affect both your weapon sway and recoil pattern. This tightens the gunplay significantly, while still maintaining an element of randomness without it being overpowering and completely unpredictable. Improved Iron Sights Along with the feedback from our players we wanted to give weapons with Iron sights some love. The following list are the weapons which received such work: M1903 Karabiner 98 Kurz M1 Garand Gewehr 43 SVT-40 Johnson M1941 Light Machine Gun FG 42 MG34 MG42 Degtyaryov DP-28 DT-29 Maxim-Tokarev MT M3 "Grease Gun" PPD-40 MP40 M1 Carbine M1A1 Carbine M1/M2 Carbine Panzerfaust 60 Bazooka M1A1 Panzerschreck RPzB 54 Panzerbüchse 39 Granatbüchse 39 PTRD-41 Ampulomet For full details of the changes please take a look at the changelog here! Plane Adjustments The higher tier of planes had a hard time slowing down their speed enough to deploy the wheels for landing - therefore we made air brakes more effective and increased the height the wheels automatically deploy. Increased Staged Battle Captured Resources By changing the current formula for calculating the resources it is now yielding more resources. Terrain Fixes We have done a lot of terrain fixes on several maps. These terrain fixes are, but not limited to; inconsistent heightmap, obstructed and steep roads (looking at you depot road), trenches partially covered by dirt and buried train tracks. Props and Objects 1.17.1 Update also includes many fixes to buried and floating objects. It is an ongoing process and we will continue to fix both terrain, props and objects. Spawn Points and Capture Zones In some maps spawn points were blocked by boulders, we have fixed the observed areas and vehicles should no longer suffer involuntary harm upon spawning. We also adjusted some Capture Zones. Specific Zones had unpredictable sizes, examples would be roofs not included in the zone, half a house etc. TAKE UP ARMS, PERFECT YOUR AIM, AND HEAD INTO BATTLE NOW! Enjoy! Don't you really have responsible people and good programmers, graphic designers? There are a lot of good ideas on the forum, just implement them - no one will assert the rights to these ideas. Why don't you volunteer? There are many players here who have been with you for over 7 years and who know how to create games, asset graphics, physics in games - they want to work for you for free, because they are fans of this game - what's the problem? This volunteering is free and can be a remedy for problems. I understand that you want to claim the honor of making this game, but this game is sinking, dying - don't you see it ?? If I were you, I would start a server with the 2013 game state and see how many players will start playing that version, don't say you don't have a copy, because no responsible team overwrites their data ... With each new version you spoil the remaining remnants of something that worked and was good, you have players in the butt and their ideas and opinions. guncolony.com 530 Report post Posted January 29, 2020 (edited) YES IT ACTUALLY MADE IT LIVE As a SU player I'm happy that PPD and PPSh finally got some love in this update, I feel that Johnson, M1M2 and MG42 users will feel the same. I'll go in game and see if they fixed the tapping turning guns into a laser beam problem. It was pretty bad when in the test server because a player with macros could completely get around the recoil pattern by releasing the mouse after every shot. (I was using a 500rpm AVS so I could tap fire at close to the full auto fire rate without using a macro, and it made the gun much more accurate) More FG 42 and DT-29 buff (iron sights), lol. MP40 also was already the best smg in the game but i guess it still isn't an OP weapon so i'm fine with the buff. I agree with bolt action and SA buffs, mosin was by far the best BA rifle and this iron sight update makes it a bit closer, though mosin still has 100 m/s faster bullets lol. Kinda disappointed that this patch didn't include adding the new houses to more maps As of terrain changes I am assuming that the ultra steep river banks in mountain town was fixed since that was the single biggest issue in the maps pre update. The examples you mentioned makes people vulnerable, and depend on the solution. In a game if you make mistakes, create serious issues, players will just leave. Making big mistakes in a game is in no scenario will boost your sales, it will turn off players.
