Hi all, thank you for your patience! 

 

I’ve listed the top voted suggestions below, will try and tag the original owners of those comments so they know their suggestions are being debated here. A link to the original thread can also be found HERE.

 

Firstly, I'll have to say that even though we might reach conclusions on several of these suggestions, I can’t guarantee that any of these will make it through production in the same shape that we conclude - If they make it through at all. Understand that there are a lot of factors that could alter the concepts through production, ie. technical reasons or amount of production required etc. However I’m personally very impressed!

 

If your concept gets to see the light of day, we’ll make sure to credit you (might even name it after you who knows?), and each of the four users who made the suggestions below will get a fat voucher sometime next week (I’ll send you a message here on the forum).

 

Generally you won’t have to worry too much about abuse/farming of a concept, since we’ll either do code that will mitigate those behaviors or outright ban people who abuse/farm certain parameters of the event(against the TOS). If you however see potential loopholes please speak up, but no reason to echo it if a similar comment is already made.

 

I’ll leave my own comments/concerns regarding the individual concepts separately to this main post. - Also if you cannot be constructive with your feedback, your comment will be removed. Original creators of the suggestions, feel free to expand on your concept if you feel the need for it.

THEME: Field medic

OBJECTIVE:  heal teammates wounded on the battlefield, ( x amount) heal points and its granted a medic helmet

(X2 amount of) heal points a medic camo

DURATION: 2 weeks

AFFECTED PLAYERS: NEWCOMERS / EXPERIENCED / VETERANS  (all)
AFFECTED GAME AREA: War/staged - only pvp matches

POTENTIAL REWARDS:
Unique helmet/camo for a field medic, as shown as example below
Everyone can have said camo. Not only top 10.
-1 helmet per account
-1 medic camo per account.
both per account if player was able to reach both event objectives.
why:  there is, right now no field medic. just users with badges. and a small icon above your head, making it hard to notice/call for help.
since there is no "talk commands" to ask for a medic - having a uniform on the medic specialist it's a way to wounded soldiers spot u faster and whistle for help.
players like me, already have a dedicated medic (mp40 - med pouch and med pack + both med badges at gold) would find this a great addition to the class.

possible "anti-cheat"/to avoid abuses on this event: healing the same player twice in a row, does not count for the stats.

THEME: Harvester

OBJECTIVES: Kill 500 (or 1000 depending on what is actually a fair challenge) players at a range less than 50 m

DURATION: 1 week

AFFECTED PLAYERS: All

AFFECTED GAME AREA: ACTION GAME

POTENTIAL REWARD(S): Helmets with skulls for everyone that has achieved the 500/1000 kill count thing

THEME: Battle of Britain

OBJECTIVE: US faction needs to fend off German troops, trying to overtake Britain's main cities (TBD). Meanwhile the German forces have to face the Soviet threat from the East, trying to overtake Berlin and <fill out> main cities. [Allies get a surplus bonus in vehicle production. Axis get a surplus bonus in planes. Russia gets a surplus in ground forces].

 DURATION: 2 weeks

AFFECTED PLAYERS: All 

AFFECTED GAME AREA: RTS / WAR 

POTENTIAL REWARDS:

Unique outfit  (British?) for US players.
Unique outfit (Officer?) for Axis.
Unique outfit (Spetznaz?) for Soviets?
 Participation of at least < # > battles required

Theme: Never surrender

Objective:  Kill 100 players while having less than 30 hp

Duration: One weekend

Affected Players: All who have HnG

Potential Reward: Skins for SAs or Tier II MPs with blood stains and dents

Be careful with medic stuff. Yeah it is cool and good event idea, but it shouldn't be limited, after event you won't be able to get it. New players won't be able to aquire it. In my opinion medic stuff should exist as normal feature, not just as rare collectible.

 

Oh and please improve your event system. For example introduce ingame kill count or something like that. Now there is a lot of confusion if I got all the kills which I need or few are missing + ingame assists are shown as "kills" while your events don't count them. It will get even more confusing with events like "kill 100 players while having less than 30hp".

 Field medic:  Same opinion as @r2gy, instead of an event this will work better as a new permanet unlock as people wanting to be a "medic" will continue to arrive after the event.

 

Harvester:A very feasible event and the coolest reward on my opinion but also, as @r2gy said whe will need a better way to know if we reached the event goal. (almost forgot, will be nice if the reward its a DECAL that applies to any already owned helmet, so we don´t mess with any already made combination for our soldier)

 

Never surrender: Very hard to track targets that match this criteria, if a "new" outfit will be made will be better to use that change to implement a sub-faction one and made this a permanent option not just a one time thing.

 

Harvester event have my vote.

Field medic: As stated above already, i think that this shouldnt just be locked in an event, but rather beeing available for every person which grinded trough the medic ribbon.

 

Harvester: I think this would work out, but it is too basic for my taste. Since the most players use SMGs, the playstile of the majority wouldnt even change.

 

Battle of britain: Cool idea! With only one city too push, the playstile on the war map could actually change drastically. I also like the production boosts. This gives room for new tactics. All in all, i think this is also an event which is really well fitted for clan combat.

 

Never surrender: I kinda like the idea, but i think things like this would rather fit as monthly missions (If reto decides to add that someday).

 

Conclusion:

My personal rating is Field medic>Battle of Britain>Never surrender>Harvester.

 

But i still gonna vote for Battle of Britain with the reason i had for field medic. All in all good suggestions from everyone.

RETO hasn't been able to introduce medic stuff for years and now we get special medic stuff but no actual medic?

That´s a great idea, but i think Reto still need to code the heads to be interchangeable so we can have the already done(for +1 year) new faces, so making different "hands"  or other customizable body parts may also require changes in the code yet to be made.

I've voted for the "Never surrender"-event. But we need a counter to follow our progress, otherwise it's too complicated.

 

The "Field medic"-event is a very good concept but I have to agree with the other users above that limiting a much requested camouflage to the outcome of an event would only benefit the current playerbase and leaves those who might come in the future unsatisfied as they would be unable to dress as a medic.

"Harvester" is a tad too basic for me since it wouldn't differ much from the current gameplay and feels more like a secondary objective than an actual event.

"Battle of Britain" is the only RTS-related suggestion here and I like the potential rewards, however this would cause the same issue as the "Field medic"-event and I'm not that much of a fan of the current RTS mechanics. Might be a better event once the RTS has seen major improvements in the future.

If you get it in the event, good for you! But new player or Veterans that want to build a Medic afterwards can still buy the skin

To add to my suggestion, the main idea was to give everyone the possibility of getting something cool (imo the skull helmets) without needing to directly compete against other people to get it, as i generally dislike limiting the amount of winners. The rest of my suggestion is pretty flexible and i thought about adding some other basic tasks and rewards in it.

Agree, I didn't spend a lot of creative effort for the required task itself, if you have any ideas to improve it and make it more interesting, please share

i see.

would be actualy a good idea. but, an expensive one after the event or one with some changes , so we know who got it from the event and who bought it.

coudnt disagree.

@Reto.bobot,  here we have 4 potential events, each with a diferent role to fufill, why dont, we do one at a time but all 4 get the chance to be done? 1 today another in a few weeks or months and so on? so we can have more to do/more to earn/more to spend time ingame?

You mean, In the event you have a possibility to get it for free, but after the event you have to buy it for tons of credits like other camos? Yeah thats an option too.

recon hunt event

find the recon and kill him.

if the recon doesn't get caught shooting people then he wins points towards a unique camoe outfit. the guys who catch the recon and kill him are considered the best recon hunters and win points towards a pair of golden binoculars. staged only, all players, duration one week. rules, planes and tank kills don't count. recon vs recon or recon vs infantry only. 

p.s. i voted for lobos medic event

if by any means, we cant have a medic helmet/outfit with redcrosses on white background, we community/reto may come with a diferent pathern/design to have a destiction making a medic a unique role to be played with.
why:
-easy to spot on the heat of the batle
-easy to call for / ask to be notice /ask for help
-unique role destinction
-right now the ingame icon above our heads when we have medpacks are kinda hard to read on the heat of the batle/harder to spot
-fufill a old community request on medic outfits, as old as we are requesting for medpacks we did get long time ago.

about newplayers that arent here on the event period/ someone that didnt make the requested target
- after the event , i might propose a diferent collour pathern/helmet avaiable to be sold on the ingame market, for a high amount of credits / reasonable amout of gold .
why? - if a player cant aford/choose not to buy it with gold, investing time grinding credits means a +1 active player on the fronts of war/ingame as general (witch means more active players per time/games/small queues in MM) , small amout of gold to the one that choose to and or can afford to invest gold, to help the boat float for everyone/support the devs.
- a diferent pathern in collours may or could be sold after said event is over, the ones getting the reward still have diferent ingame patherns from ones that couldnt make it / didnt try to / newcomers in future.

I think the spotting icons could differ recons from normal soldiers. Otherwise repeated spotting someone actually works.

 

Maybe give career XP for spotting as you pretty much don't get anything from it, other than knowing there is a pesky bush camper.


this is also a long time requested by community.
give XP to spotters / bino usage to spot. even if its only for recons.

Good idea. With this slight modification to the original event I would instantly support it. Those players who own a dedicated medic soldier would acknowledge this.
