The MiG-3 is a high altitude interceptor. It is armed with one 12.7mm and two 7.62mm machine guns. Despite its below average maneuverability, its high speed means it can outrun any other aircraft.
How do I get one?
In the ‘1.08 – Planes & Ladders’ update this wonderful vehicle will become a part of the ever-expanding arsenal for the Soviet faction! The MiG-3 unlocks at the Dog Fight Ribbon grade 5, where the Yak-9 used to be. The Yak-9 is moved to grade 7.
Isn’t it very difficult to fly planes?
In the 1.03 – Wings of War update earlier this year, we introduced two new flight control modes as well as two additional throttle controls making it much easier to get started flying. Take a look at this news-post and video to see more about the new flight controls.
The MiG-3 was introduced in 1941 and it replaced the MiG-1. A total of 3,422 was produced during WW2. Soviet ace Aleksandr Pokryshkin had 53 official air victories and a number of these were scored flying a MiG-3 in the beginning of the war.
