Summer is taking hold of the Reto-Moto offices, but that has not stopped the developers working on the next major update – even though some have mentioned the concept of vacation 🙂
Meanwhile we got a few features ready and put them into the minor update, simply called 1.07.1, released today.

Guns go bang

We decided to update weapon sounds in Heroes & Generals. More specifically the sounds for the semi-auto rifles: M1 Garand, Gewehr 43, and Tokarev SVT-40.
And while we were at it, three of the early game SMGs also got an audio overhaul. You might want to pick up your M3 Grease Gun, Maschinenpistole 34, or PPD-40 to hear something new.

Tanks versus bicycles

We now use a so called sturdiness model when one vehicle impacts with another, resulting in heavier vehicles dealing more damage to the less sturdy ones. So when you drive your tank into an enemy riding a bicycle, he will be the one squashed.
Some beneficial side effect of this new model is less overall damage from environment impacts to vehicles. And also that enemy deaths from vehicle vs vehicle collisions now count as kills rather than suicide
This part of the update is the first small step in an ongoing and rather large development project looking into a range of vehicle gameplay aspects in Heroes & Generals – something that will have an impact on and be beneficial to all types of soldiers. Expect more details in the months ahead.
